The development team behind the creation of the PS Eye and the PS Move have just published a patent which was filed late last year for a camera device that will be able to track 3D subtle movements and can also sense depth. This patent might just be an indication of Sony working on a device similar to the Kinect for their next gen console, after they decided to invest in button operated peripherals rather than controller free peripherals. The Kinect has outsold the PS Move by quite a large margin which gave Sony an indication of what the motion control market really wants.
