The PSN has been down for the past two days and it seems like its going to take some time to get it up and running again. This could have come at a worst time for Sony seeing as this weekend is a bank holiday weekend in the UK and also a lot of new titles have hit the shelves. SCEE Corporate Communications & Social Media Sr. Director had this to say on the Playstation blog;
''An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th. Providing quality entertainment services to our customers and partners is our utmost priority. We are doing all we can to resolve this situation quickly, and we once again thank you for your patience. We will continue to update you promptly as we have additional information to share.''
We seriously hope that this outage will be solved as quickly as possible so that we'll be able to enjoy some online fun.
