Sony Corp. Japan has just confirmed the release of the UMD passport program for the Vita next December the 6th. PSP users will be able to transfer their UMD titles to their new PS Vita Console thanks to a free app issued by Sony for the old PSP consoles called UMD Registration App. When installed on the PSP console the user will then insert the desired UMD which will then register with the user's PSN account making it readily available to be downloaded and playable on the PS Vita. This program is currently confirmed for the Asian market, and SCEA and SCEE have yet to confirm the availability for the rest of the regions.
