During a key note speech at the Gamesbeat 2013 conferences, Oculus VR Chief Executive Brendan Iribe announced that the Oculus rift Virtual Reality headset will be coming to the Android platform. Oculus VR's aim is to launch the PC and Mobile Gaming versions simultaneously, in a bid to target a wider gaming market. The mobile gaming version will be lighter when compared to the PC version, and will be making use of the smartphone's or tablet's processor to operate. The team is very excited after early tests on the platform were successful, and the feedback was positive. Unfortunately there are no plans for an iOS version, as the developers deemed the platform too problematic.
