New batteries double life span

Stanford University have confirmed, that their researchers have successfully developed a new Lithium based battery, which can double, or even triple a device’s current battery life.

The discharge of ions in current generation batteries is random and uncontrolled, and this is the reason these batteries are inefficient. These new batteries on the other-hand feature a carbon nano-shield which controls the unstable-chemical reaction, and allows for a more efficient operation.

With this system, researches have stated that cellphones using this battery will have a battery life that lasts two or three times longer than current batteries. Electric car makers can also benefit from this technology, by decreasing the price of development, of said cars, and improving driving range.

The project is still in early stages of development, but rest assured that future portable devices and electric motors will be sporting this technology.
