Bio: I conceived Malta’s first podcast back in 2009 and have been hard at work at keeping it relevant in today’s times. I’ve been the editor, webadmin, host, and content creator since its inception. I always had a passion for the media and entertainment world, which is why this project has been kept alive.
Overdrive was Malta’s first webseries which i developed myself and I actually managed to give local programmes a run for their money with very little budget and no work-force. I worked as a presenter on local tv for a couple of years but now I run my own small filming company. Gaming is still a crucial part of my life, it’s one of the only mediums I can unleash my vivid imagination. I consider it my safe space in which I can be lose myself. It’s a parallel universe really which many tend to immerse them selves in.
In 2018 I was selected to be part of the communications working group at DG comm in the European Commission. I was tasked with coming up with a communication’s project to promote the EU Customs Union. I produced and conceptualized an interactive and educational video game aimed at not only teaching kids and adults what the Customs Union is and what is stands for, but also teach team about ethics and the duties of a Customs Officer at our border. The game launched in November 2018 and by Q1 2019 it will have been translated in five languages and launched globally.
In 2018 I decided to relaunch the show and podcast after a brief hiatus to concentrate on Overdrive. This new show will centre around a wider spectrum of gaming, pop culture, and technology. I hope you love it as much as I do.
