Massive layoffs at THQ

After receiving the de-listing notice earlier this week, THQ has now reportedly revealed their plans to restructure the organization, which spells disaster for some of their employees. The restructuring plan aims for the company to get back on its feet, but to do so THQ plans to lay off nearly 250 of its current employees. The current CEO of the company also announced that he will have his pay deducted to reduce the number of redundancies and help the company in the only way he can, which is a very noble thing to do. The new plan also aims to have the publisher concentrate on core games rather than family or child oriented games, which seem to have got the company in the current situation. The restructuring plan is to be implemented throughout this year, mainly in the coming three months, and finalized by the end of 2012.
