Ex-Infinity Ward creative strategist, Robert Bowling, has officially announced that the studio he worked so hard to build, Robotoki, has officially shut down.
The hard decision was taken after the studio was unable to secure a publishing deal for their project, Human Element. The title has been going through development hell for quiet a while. The game was originally set to be an Ouya exclusive, but since the console failed to succeed, the game was announced to be ported for consoles and PC, for a late 2015 release.
In a farewell post, Bowling said;
“We were actively negotiating a publishing deal for the premium version of Human Element but unfortunately I am unable to continue to self-fund the studio until that deal finalizes. I want to thank every single person who supported us along this journey. It was an experience of a lifetime, and we learned a lifetime of experience.”
The game has not been completely cancelled, but is rather on hiatus, until Bowling manages to find an interested party to publish the survival title.
