What started as a small project by a small development team, ended up becoming one of the world's most talked about game for all ages, and today the studio celebrated their half a billionth download. Figures from the company show that the combined Angry Birds titles have been downloaded over 500,000,000 times on a variety of platforms including, Smartphones, consoles, web browsers, and more, and also the collective time spent by users using the game hit the 400,000 years marker. The franchise also released several merchandising products, toys, and even a book. Rovio has also confirmed that they have starting working on launching an official Angry Birds retail outlet in Helsinki, Finland.
